We are thrilled to have worked on this piece with such a talented local crew. Le Soleil D’or cayman is easily one of the most beautiful hidden gems of the three islands. It’s unique culinary experience paired with the incredible landscape of the Brac make it a “must see to believe” destination when visiting the Cayman Islands.
Our client had a vision that wavered from the often over used commercial look of filming in slow motion with a buttery smooth gimbal, and instead opted for a more voyeuristic and organic feel. Utilizing hand held movement and shot entirely at 24fps, this project was a breath of fresh air to film. The entire piece was captured on the powerful LUMIX S1H, paired with the Atomos Ninja external monitor/recorder to make full use of the Raw sensor of the camera.
The piece was graded with a heavy hand on saturation and contrast while maintaining warm tones throughout.
The music choice and sound design was lightly influenced by the iconic intro sequence of The Chefs Table Netflix series, however we wanted the pacing to be slightly slower in order to move through the scenes without jarring the audience.
